The Problem is Demand, Not Supply
We have analyzed the shortage of women on corporate boards as a problem of demand, not supply. Our approach is to ask existing corporate directors to ask. Women corporate directors are in a unique position to create demand for other qualified women. By engaging in discussions with women who understand the board selection process, we are able to efficiently and effectively introduce qualified candidates to the chairperson of a company’s nominating and governance committee.
Trewstar has a broad network of women executives and a capable team of researchers who use the latest resources and technologies to source and reference-check potential female directors. Our bias is towards woman, our standards for evaluating the skill sets and experience required of a board member are gender neutral.
